Here are Power Support, our shipping department has always wanted to provide dependable shipping at affordable rates, but we have run up against that old shipping conundrum: Cheap, Fast, Reliable, pick two.
UPS and FedEx are the fastest and most dependable shipping methods but could run over a $100 for a package that weighed just a few grams. DHL takes a few extra days but it is safe and reliable, but could still double or triple the cost of our products. The least expensive option was to ship using the United States Postal Services First Class International package rate. Because of international postage agreements USPS packages can be sent to most places in the world at a reasonable rate, and it would usually get to destination country’s custom house within a week, but it could still take two to six weeks to be delivered depending upon where the package was being sent. Another issue is the package could only be tracked up to the point it reached the destination country’s customs office. After that no one knew where the package was until it turned up at our customer’s door. We tried a few third-party carriers, and we were able to save a few dollars on the shipping rates but we still had issues with shipping times and package tracking.
25% to 60% savings on shipping
We went to the United States Postal Services and asked them if there was any kind of solution for this problem. They had recently partnered with Asendia, a company launched by La Poste and Swiss Post in 2012. Through Asendia we are able to reduce rates from 25% to 60% in 46 countries we ship to around the world. We can’t provide next day service, but we can deliver packages in one to two weeks, in most cases. (Packages may be delayed 2 to 4 weeks because of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.) And we are able to track the package through its entire journey from our warehouse in Seattle, Washington to your door. When the package is shipped we will send you a tracking code and you will be able to log onto Asendia and know where your package is and when it should arrive.
